I was born in a small
village called Devipattanam. My father's name is Anthonyswamy and mother's
Vellakany. I was the eldest among three girls and my given
name is Hepzeeba. My father used to work in a paddy field and
we used to go with our mother to tend the sheep. We were
living peacefully with the income we received, but that didn't last
long. One day my father was pumping water into the field.
The landowner had put up an electrical fence to prevent wild animals
from entering the field and destroying the crops. My father
accidentally stepped onto one of the wires and died on the spot
because of electric shock. We lost all hope of living and my
mother became depressed and did not know what to do. She was
not able to work and sustain her three children. She used to
tell us there was no need for living and we should drink some poison
and die. Even though I did not know much about poison or
death, I used to tell her that she should not do that. One day
my mother took the three of us to a nearby forest with some milk and
poison in a packet. I understood what she was about to do and
told my sisters not to drink the milk. I ran to the house to
find my grandmother. When I found her and came back it was to
late. My mother and two sisters whom I loved so much had
passed away from this earth into eternity. I was four years
old when this happened and my mother was 23 years old. I
stayed with my grandmother for a while, but she was not able to take
care of me. A couple of months ago someone told my grandmother
about the children's
home run by Maximum Impact Ministries. A pastor
brought me here and when I came here I came to know that I am not an
orphan anymore. I heard about my heavenly Father, Who loves me
and will never forsake me. Pastor Abraham gave me a new name,
Abigail (which means :"Joy of her father) and buys me everything I
need. I don't cry anymore and am happy to be with my sisters
and brothers at the children's home and have everything I need. Thank
you.
